Today we are happy to announce update 1.0.4 of the Activity Log for MainWP, the extension that keeps a log of all that happens on your MainWP dashboard and network of child sites.

In this update we are introducing two new settings to help you to better manage your MainWP activity logs. We have also updated the extension to support MainWP 4, which is currently in BETA.

New data retention & activity log details settings

The MainWP activity log pruning and details settings

Activity log details setting

The Activity Log for MainWP extension has two functions. It:

  • Shows the activity logs of the child sites in the MainWP dashboard
  • Keeps a log of changes that happen on the MainWP dashboard

You can configure the level of detail of the child sites’ activity logs from the WP Security Audit Log plugin settings on the child sites. However, until this update it was not possible to configure the level of detail of the MainWP dashboard activity log.

Now it is possible to individually disable and re-enable any of the MainWP event IDs in the activity log. For example, if you do not want to keep a log when someone adds a child site disable event 7700.

Data retention of the MainWP dashboard activity logs

You configure the child sites’ data retention settings from the WP Security Audit Log plugin settings on the child site, similar to the log level detail.

Now you can also configure the data retention period (pruning) of the MainWP dashboard activity log. With the new setting you can configure the retention period in months or years. You can also configure the plugin to keep all the activity log events, which is the default configuration.

Support for MainWP 4

The MainWP team is working on MainWP4 BETA, which will be released later on this year. We have already updated the Activity Log for MainWP extension so it works on the upcoming version of MainWP. The new interface does look good – kudos to the MainWP team!
