Today we are releasing update 1.1 of the Website File Changes Monitor plugin. This update is based on the important feedback we got from our users after launching this plugin a few weeks ago.

The main highlight of this update are the instant file changes notifications via email. However there is much more to this update, as this blog highlights.

Email notifications of file changes on WordPress sites

Instant email notifications were the most requested feature since we released the Website File Changes Monitor (WFCM) plugin. So it is only appropriate to include this feature in the first update of this WordPress plugin.

This means that when the WFCM plugin detects file changes during a file integrity scan of a WordPress website, it sends you an email alerting you of the file changes. In the email the plugin highlights the changes detected during the file scan results: how many new files were added to the website, and how many were modified and deleted. Also included in the email are the site admin changes such as new plugin install or theme updates, giving you the complete overview that you need.

Improved user experience and plugin interface

The user experience (UX) and interface (UI) of the first version of any plugin is always a bit weak. However, we have been very lucky and have received amazing feedback from our users. So we have added several UX/UI improvements in this update, such as:

  • The plugin now uses three tabs for the file changes scan results
  • New “Items per page” drop down menu in all file changes views, allowing you to view up to 100 file changes in one page
  • Improved text in the plugin’s settings and scan results views

Other plugin improvements

We have included several other improvements and bug fixes in this update of the plugin. For a complete list of what is new, improved and fixed refer to the plugin’s changelog.

Update away!

Update WFCM to version 1.1 and take advantage of the email notifications. You no longer have to login to your site to check for file changes every day. If you have not tried our latest plugin you can download and install the free Website File Changes Monitor from the official WordPress plugins repository.
